Folk Art, 2nd Grade

These beautiful paintings were inspired after the artist, Karla Gerard.  Students painted their drawings with tempera paint and then added details with oil pastels.
I just love how colorful these are!

  1. Awesome post, thanks for sharing this post..

  2. Your art is so good, its looks great..

  3. Yeah folk art is very popular but this time I am searching information on Aboriginal Art, please help and give some beautiful paintings on it!!

  4. I love these! Would you be willing to share the lesson plan on how to paint these?

    1. I usually have students draw the hills first. Then we add the designs, houses, and other details. When painting, have students paint the large areas first. The small details can be added on top after the paint is dry. A lot of the small details were done with oil pastels after the paint was dry.
